Austria and lies at the heart of central
Europe. Known as the city of music it is the birth place of the
Waltz and the resting place of
Beethoven. This grandiose city once controlled most of Europe, but is now better known for its enviable collections of historical and artistic treasures.
Traveller
Ian Wright begins his trip at the
Hofberg Palace, home to the
Hapsburgs. He then heads for the city's cemetery which lays rest to over 2.5 million people. After a look around the
Freud Museum the travels to
Mauthausen and learns its gruesome past. Returning to Vienna he ends his journey at one of the cities famous balls.
