Globe Trekker Megan McCormick travels to Barcelona and discovers a vibrant modern city with sun kissed beaches, Gothic palaces and breathtaking art and architecture from the world’s finest artists. She soaks in the unmistakable influence of architect Antonio Gaudi in shaping the city when visiting Park Guell, La Pedrera, and his unfinished masterpiece La Sagrada Familia. She discovers the city's medieval history at the Maritime Museum and enjoys the modern day transformation of Barcelona’s seaside at Port Olympic. Megan explores Pablo Picasso’s early years in the city with visits to El Quatre Gats and the Museu Picasso.

On a road trip out of town, Megan ventures to Cap de Creus nature reserve, home to rocky treeless landscapes that were a major influence on Salvador Dali. She visits his nearby home in Port Lligat and Cadaques the fishing village where Dali summered as a child. Before ending her journey in Barcelona, Megan trades art for a little hedonistic relaxation in the popular gay friendly beach town Sitges. Her journey ends in the city with visits to the Joan Miró Foundation in Montjuic Park and the El Raval district for a day of modern and traditional Catalan music.
